Coronavirus India Update: There has been continuous speculation about the imposition of lockdown amidst the ever-increasing cases in the country. However, as per the new SOP guidelines for the month of May, the Home Ministry has not mentioned anything regarding the imposition of lockdown in any state of the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the Center and State Governments to give the list of districts where the infection rate of coronavirus is more than 10 per cent or where the rate of filling the hospital beds are more than 7 per cent. The Ministry has said that if any district has recorded one of these then a decision can be taken to make them follow strict and local restrictions.

As per the decision of the Ministry for establishing smaller and larger containment zones, guidance from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will be taken into consideration. And all the rules and guidelines will be followed till May 31, 2021.
