The Star Kid Tara Sutaria - A singer, a dancer and an actress. She donned many hats. Born on November 19, 1997, Tara was always absorbed in singing, acting and dancing. She worked in many television series like ‘The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir’ and become Femme Fatale after her debut film ‘Student of the Year’ with her co-stars Tiger Shroff and Ananya Pandey.
Born in a Zoroastrian Parsi family, Tara is the elder daughter of Himanshu Sutaria & Tina Sutaria. She has a non-identical twin sister named Pia Sutaria and holds her nativity in the city of dreams, Mumbai. She completed her schooling from Bai Avabai Framji Petit Girls' High School, Mumbai.
Being a graduate from I.S.T.D and St. Andrew’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Tara is truly a beauty with brains. From her childhood, she has always been engrossed in singing and dancing. She has been a professional singer and had performed in operas and other competitions from the early age of 7. Trained in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance and Latin American Dances from the Royal Academy of Dance, UK, The Imperial Society for Teachers Of Dance, and The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy, Tara truly has finesse in singing and dancing.
Tara accompanied Louis Banks and Gino Banks with Tony Lakatos on the saxophone for the show “Boom Blast” where she danced and sang on three songs. She also performed with Gleehive Choir and Stop- Gaps Junior Choral Ensemble.
Tara also sang in many iconic Bollywood movies like Guzaarish, Taare Zameen Par and David. Showcasing her glazed vice, she performed in concerts at Tokyo, London, Mumbai and Lavasa.
She has also been recording music in India and abroad for films, advertisements, and her original work. Her song "Slippin' Through My Fingers" is part of the Ashwin Gidwani Production of Bharat Dhabholkar's Blame It On Yashraj.
Tara started her television career with Disney Channel India, as a child artist and video jockey in the show Big Bada Boom and became the brand ambassador of Disney India after successfully delivering The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir (2012) and Oye Jassie (2013).
Shining in her musical career She played the lead role of Sandy in Raell Padamsee's production of the musical Grease. She has also been a soloist for the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble, singing at the NCPA for over a decade. She was in the top seven finalists for 2008” Pogo Amazing Kids Awards” in the singer category.
Tara also participated in a Television show “Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega” on Sony TV and won 10,000 Indian rupees, this show was also her first performance on the screen.
Trailing her dreams in the acting career, she was among the two actresses who were selected for the part of Princess Jasmine in the American Fantasy film Aladdin(2019), but the role was later performed by Naomi Scott.
She made her debut in Student of the Year 2 alongside Tiger Shroff and Ananya Pandey. The movie is the standalone sequel of the 2012 film Student of the year, Produced by Karan Johar. Tara sang a song for the film.
Later Sutaria grabbed another film named ‘Marjaavan’ in 2019 alongside Sidharth Malhotra, Ritesh Deshmukh and Rakul Preet. This action piece was directed by Milap Zaveri and carved the acting skills of the talented actress.
Sutaria is prepping for her next romantic thriller ‘Tadap’, opposite Ahan Shetty, Directed by Milan Lutria. She has also grabbed her hands-on the upcoming squeal of 2014 thriller, ‘Ek Villain’, co-starring Aditya Roy Kapur, John Abraham and Disha Patani.
Tara Sutaria won Zee Cine Awards for the Best Female Debut for her film Student of the Year 2. She was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for the same.
