Two weeks lockdown imposed in Tamil Nadu from 10th May, know the guidelines here

Tamil Nadu complete lockdown:

With the current situation of the Covid-19 virus worsening all across the country, various state governments as a protective measure against the deadly virus are imposing lockdown and curfews in their respective states. And hence, now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin has made a big decision to impose lockdown in Tamil Nadu from 10th May 2021 until 24th May 2021.  

The lockdown as stated by the CM MK Stalin has been imposed due to unavoidable reasons, after considering the inputs the medical experts and other consultations from 10th May 4 AM until 24th May at 4 AM. 

The guidelines for the lockdown imposed in Tamil Nadu are listed below:

  • Only the essential services will be allowed to operate during this 14 days lockdown imposed in Tamil Nadu. 

  • The vegetable, meat and fish shops, and other provisional stores will be operational until 12 noon, while all other shops have been directed to remain shut.

  • While the liquor shops owned by the state, Tasmac will also remain shut during this period of lockdown.

  •  Restaurants will only be allowed to provide takeaway services.

  • Petrol and Diesel bunks will also be operational during the lockdown.

While it must be noted that, Tamil Nadu is reporting around 26000 coronavirus cases each day, with 197 deaths, while the total caseload of the state is at 13.23 lakhs currently. Other than Tamil Nadu, regions such as Karnataka and Kerala have also imposed lockdowns considering the surge in Covid-19 cases across the country.
