The recent reports state that the UP universities will assess the final year students enrolled in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses through an examination before obtaining their degrees. As recommended by the three-member committee set up to work out modalities for promoting the first-year students to the second year.
The result for first-year students will be prepared on the basis of their performance in the second-year examinations. The universities that would’ve conducted the examination for the first-year students in 2020 will prepare the second-year results of such students on the basis of their performance in the first year.
The universities that were not able to conduct the examination for the first-year students in 2020, will conduct the OMR-based examination for these students in the second year. On the basis of their performance in these examinations, the students will be admitted to the third year.
Both the state and private universities will have to conduct the OMR-based exam which consists of multiple-choice questions before 13th August and the results for the same must be declared the latest by 31st August.
As per the reports, the students of the second semester who haven’t given their examination under the semester system, for such students, the universities have been directed to prepare the result on the basis of their performance in the first-semester examination. And the same system will be applicable for all UG and PG students who are in odd semesters.
